An Usborne Early Reader covering the famous story of Androcles and the Lion - a runaway Roman slave helps out a wild lion by removing the thorn stuck in it's foot and they become friends, only to both be captured and meet again in the amphitheatre arena. The lion refuses to eat Androcles and thus earns freedom for them both.
