Visit: Verulamium Museum

With amphitheatre across the road!

Outside the main museum are a variety of other "Roman" attractions - the two big ones being a Roman amphitheatre across the road (ticketed) and a mosaic in-situ in a little building further into the adjacent park (free). The whole park has really taken on the "Roman" theme with roman names for the sandwiches in the kids meal in the park cafe, a huge and beautifully designed playground area with lots of accessible facilities (wheelchair accessible roundabout, sloped-ramp fort, accessible swing) themed around the layout and finds from the Roma

n settlement, and even a "Roman" mini golf.
